The Ministry of Health adopted one new precautionary measure for fresh eggs due a possible microbiological risk linked to the presence of Salmonella enteritidis. The opinion concerns some batches of category A eggs products by Avicola Serroni, marketed both in boxes of 180 eggs and in packs of six eggs.
The measure, announced with two dated official notices from February 6, was prescribed by the same company as a precautionary measure against suspected contamination by Salmonella enterica subsp. Enteritidis, a subspecies of the bacteria Salmonella enterica.

According to the ministry, the recall concerns all lots with an expiration date between February 18, 2026 and February 25, 2026 in sizes M, L and XL.
Eggs subject to food alert have been produced by the poultry company “Serroni” of Cavallaro Angelo & C. snc, at the factory Serroni Alto, Montecorvino Rovella, in the province of Salerno. The company’s identification mark is EU IT K1557.
